So I had some free time and I actually grabbed a pen and
paper and wrote down a post which I rarely do. A really great post about Sleepy
hollow and the Katrina problem but I never got around to typing or posting
it. An on the season finale of Sleepy Hollow
last night the problem of Katrina was solved….. THANK GAWD! I am going to
summarize what I wrote because it got kind of lengthy for me (yawl know I don’t
typically write super long post but this was like 4 pages! Lol). I did a post a
while back on how badly most female characters are written and Katrina was at

Katrina was talked about as this super powerful witch that would be an asset to
#TeamWitness so much so that Ichabod and Abbie risked life and limb, Abbie
getting stuck in purgatory to save her and bring her back. Although while in purgatory the excuse used
for Katrina not doing any witch stuff was that she couldn't use her magic in
purgatory. Then when she wasn't in
purgatory she was with her old flame headless and the excuse then was she couldn't
use it because…. Hell I don’t even remember why I just know that she was still
useless. Then once she was freed from
headless and her crazy granpa/son Jeremy/Henry she still was useless. It was again left to Abbie, Ichabod, Jenny,
and sometimes Hawley to do all the work.
She could barely do a spell without needing rescued for some reason or
another. It wasn't until she met another
witch way more powerful than her that she was even remotely useful. It also wasn't until Granpa/son Jeremy/Henry
got in her head that she was useful, but unfortunately her usefulness wasn't
for #TeamWitness. In the last 3 episodes
of the season we saw Katrina literally do a 180 and now she was able stop cars,
build brick walls, and time travel all with magic…. Crazy right!!? In last
weeks episode granpa/son was killed (rightfully so) and then Katrina blamed
everything……EV..ER..Y..THING on Ichabod, I am assuming that she used a spell to
erase the lie after lie after lie she told Ichabod numerous times (Like she didn't even tell Ichabod she was knock up in the first place). She then cast a time traveling spell that not
only took her back in to 1781 but Abbie as well. Abbie Mills in 1781….. Abbie BAMF Mills back
in 1781….. oh did I mention Abbie is also black and the 1700’s isn't exactly a
historical point most blacks want to travel too. But I digress, the season finale began with
Katrina frantically searching for Ichabod who she hoped was already half dead
because of headless but quickly learned that wasn't the case because Abbie had
pretty much rewritten history by saving Ichabod's life. Abbie told Ichabod that she was from the
future and that they was homies and that he needed to get her out of jail so
she could get back to her own time and set everything back to normal. Of course in typical skeptical Crane fashion
he kind of believed her but not completely. To the point of disobeying direct
orders and subsequently getting Ben Franklin beheaded by headless who is now completely
on Katrina’s side and after both Abbie and Crane. That disobedience gets both Crane and Abbie
in hot water (They kinda got Ben Franklin beheaded which is kind of a huge
deal). Luckily before Crane was dismissed Abbie was able to tell Crane it
is Katrina they are running from and she is secretly knocked up and
hiding it from Crane. Abbie also tells Crane
to look in her cell phone because there is a selfie of her and him in there and
the password is HIS birthday (Lets not talk about that…. #TeamIchabbie
confirmation). Crane goes home to find Katrina being super creepy and Ichabod
finally realizes Abbie is telling the truth and luckily for Crane Washington’s
men come scoop him before Katrina can get her witch claws in him. Easily the best and funniest moment of the
show is Crane trying to get into Abbie’s cell phone, but he see’s
the video selfie of her and Crane and runs off to “save” Abbie. Let’s be honest here… ABBIE DON’T NEED SAVED
of course Abbie handles her own like the BAMF that she is. Then in one of the more touching scenes of
the show Abbie meets her ancestor Grace Dixon who we find out Abbie aka Grace Abigail
Mills is named after. Grace knows what spell is needed to send Abbie and Katrina back to the present fixing everything
done while they were back in 1781. Crane
goes to stall headless and Katrina giving Abbie and Grace just enough time to
do the spell sending them both back and making all right with the world. Of course Katrina is not a happy camper and
since she now wants to use her magic for EVERYTHING she uses it to try and kill
both Abbie and Crane. Crane is able to
stop her by killing her thus saving Abbie in the process (which HAD to be
done). In the last scene we finally see
Jenny and Irving who apparently has his soul back…. Not going to lie I am super
skeptical about that. The episode ends
with Abbie telling #TeamWitness that their work is not done and that this is
just the beginning. I am so happy that
this story arc is over! Henry is gone AND Katrina is gone!! I only have a
few lingering talking points…
- Is this the complete end of Katrina and Henry?
- What is next for #TeamWitness?
- Is Irving really OK or nah?
- What happened to Hawley? I mean he was useful sometimes he had all the cool toys.
- Will the show get renewed is the biggest question!
