This yr I will try to stick to a theme. Blacks in TV and film! First up is Nichelle Nichols who played Lt. Uhura on the original Star Trek TV series. I picked her because I am named after her (mommy is a super trekkie!) and because she was one of the first black women on TV that wasn't playing a maid. She was smart and super bad ass on the regular! Her and William Shatner also shared the first interracial kiss on TV. #NichelleNichols #BlackHistory #TVandFilmedition #StarTrek
