The Bad
Katrina (Sleepy Hollow)- I honestly don't understand the appeal and the hold that she has over Ichabod. She has so much potential and power to be a super bad ass character. But she fails so short on a regular basis... like every damn episode. Not to mention she is a pathological liar and lies to Ichabod all the time. She is supposedly a powerful witch yet her powers are rarely ever useful. So what is the point of her having powers if she is only on the show to play the damsel in distress.Barbara (Gotham)- As far as I am concerned she is absolutely pointless to the show show right now. I know that down the line she is will be important but right now she is worthless. She is nagging, secretive, and nosey. All she does is whine and complain about what Jim is not telling her yet she keeps secrets from him. I would think that she would know that as a Police officer he can't tell her everything that is going on. Not to mention he's already said that what he knows can get her killed but she cant leave well enough alone.
Davina (The Originals)- Ok so I am on the fence with Davina because she has her moments that she is really awesome( all of season 1) she has totally fell off this season and is bordering on super annoying dumb teenager. So I won't be that hard on her because she was one of my favorite character last season.
Rebbecca (How to get away with murder)- There is a certain "C" word that comes to mind when I think of her but conniving will have to do. Like I said before I don't understand her appeal and Wes has this whole "Super Save a Her" complex going on with her. While she has a major part to play in the plot of the show she is just so unlikable and not in the I love to hate them way. But the I just don't like this character and wish she would disappear and never come back way. I can't say anything nice about her even though I am sure she didn't do it I still think she should go to jail. That's how much I hate her character.
Laurel (Arrow)- I was only a semi fan of Laurel from the beginning. She was from the start just an Ok character. But she just went drastically down hill pretty much from the middle of season 1. She whiny, weak...... damsel in distress-y. She is also a complete and total screw up not sure if that is her primary roll to mess everything up so Oli or Sarah can fix it. She is a character that is more trouble than she is worth.
Thea (Arrow)- Another character that I hated absolutely hated from the start. She is a spoiled entitled brat and again more trouble than she is worth. And as far as I am concerned of no real value to the story or plot of the show. They could totally eliminate her character an the show would not miss a beat at all. She talks down to Oli about everything he does or doesn't do but she is cool with her murdering father who kill half of Starling City..... Ok
The Good
Abbie (Sleepy Hollow)- I love me some Abbie Mills!!! She is smart, driven, beautiful and super bad ass. I honestly can't say anything bad about Abbie Mills..... #TeamIchabbie!!!!!!!Jenny (Sleepy Hollow)- The other Mills sister also smart and equally beautiful. Now she does have some issues and rightfully so with all that her an Abbie went through when they were younger but still she still a strong character than can fend for her self.
Felicity (Arrow)- I was a day 1 fan of Felicity she super smart and always uses her intelligence to her advantage. Her back story was amazing one of my favorite episodes so far. An her appearance on The Flash was great... I am torn as to whether I am #Balicity (Barry and Felicity) Olicity (Oliver and Felicity. Felicities character is how you do a female character that doesn't really fight but can still hold her own.
Sarah (Arrow)- RIP She was completely bad ass unlike her sister. She was tough as nails but still kept her feminine side. Even when she was in trouble she could still hold her own. I am sad that she is gone and so soon in the season.
Rebecca (The Originals)- While she is not my favorite and she has made some mistakes I still like her character and I love the fact that with in that mans land of The Originals she can hold her own against her brothers and isn't afraid of them. Also the fact that she doesn't apologize for anything that she's done.
My problem is that for every good one there is 50 not so good ones. I understand that the damsel in distress character will always be in stories no matter how much women protest. I would just like to see more of the super smart, driven, bad ass women characters like the Mills sisters, Felicity, and Sarah. Less of the damsels and uber bitch characters like Rebecca and Laurel. I would like other characters with more potential to reach that potential i.e Katrina and Davina. I want to see the multi layered characters that their male counterparts play (Jim Gordon) and less of the one dimensional characters that the females play (Barbara). Overall I would just like to see an equal playing field.
