I. Am. HYPED.
Let me rewind for a second. I'm a casual gamer. I enjoy the occasional shooter, solving puzzles, playing with people online... But what I really, really love is open world RPGs. My favorite types of gaming involve an in depth storyline, open worlds, character development, and amazing landscapes.
All of this is exactly why I am so stoked for Horizon Zero Dawn.
Horizon Zero Dawn (HZD) is an upcoming PS4 exclusive from Guerrilla games. Essentially, you take on the role of our main heroine, Aloy, who's story takes place after the robot apocalypse in which machines have taken over the planet.
Aloy is an outcast, who was raised only by a surrogate father. She hunts these mammoth mechanical animals with nothing but a bow. You follow her story as she delves deep into the origin of these beasts and where they come from - what their prerogative is.
The game drops tonight at midnight, and it looks AMAZING. I have this bad boy on preorder, and I will be diving into it within the next week. So be sure to keep an eye out for a full upcoming review, because I'm sure it's going to be epic.
